Meghalaya is one of the most unique states of India, particularly North East India. It has many mystic waterfalls, lush forests, green valleys, local tribal culture, and unique food. The name means “abode of clouds” in Sanskrit, and it lives up to its expectations.

We start our 2 nights 3 days Pleasant Meghalaya Tour from Guwahati. Guwahati is the capital city of Assam. On our way to Shillong, we’ll visit Umiam Lake, which is a beautiful man made lake. Wind down for a bit here and take a hike around the lake and the beautiful park accompanying it.

Shillong is the capital city of Meghalaya, and is also known as the “Rock Capital of India” with many musicians having western and local inspirations from the place. The night life and cafes of Shillong are not to miss out, as it has a unique vibe to it.

One of the most interesting places to visit in Meghalaya is Mawlynnong Village, which has the tag of “Asia’s cleanest Village”. The village is really clean and you can feel a breath of fresh air amidst all the greenery and flowers here. Most of the houses you will see here are made of bamboo, adding to the “eco-village” vibe here. From this village, you’ll be able to see Bangladesh which makes up for the USP of the place.

The best time to visit Meghalaya is between the months of October to April, the weather in Meghalaya is pleasant and one can enjoy the full experience of visiting Meghalaya during these months.
